SURFACE ENGINEERING DIVISION

Liquid Carbo Nitriding (LCN) & Phosphating

BLW operates automated salt bath nitriding lines and 9-tank manganese phosphating systems engineered to extend valvetrain operating life under heavy thermal loads.

Liquid Carbo Nitriding (LCN / NOPQ)

Creates a non-brittle diffusion layer with low friction coefficient and 96+ hour salt spray corrosion defense.

9-Tank Automatic Manganese Phosphating

Absorbs engine oil and eliminates metal-to-metal scuffing during initial engine break-in cycles.

Surface Performance Comparison

Parameter Standard Polish BLW Nitrided (LCN)
Surface Hardness 250 - 350 HV 850 - 1000 HV
Friction Coeff. 0.25 μ 0.08 μ (Ultra Low)
Corrosion Life Standard 96+ Hr Salt Spray
